SUMMARY:Tinmouth Moves to Ireland for an Evening with Extra Stout
DESCRIPTION:There must be little towns in Ireland a lot like Tinmouth – a little village in the fields with a pub (ice cream as well as brew in Tinmouth) and a small hall. Old Firehouse in Tinmouth was once a Grange Hall\, but on Friday\, October 26 at 7:30 PM it will spend an evening as the Hibernian Club in an tiny Irish community.  Extra Stout will fill the hall with its Irish singing\, whistling and fiddling! \nExtra Stout is a one band Irish Festival! It’s a traditional Irish band that brings raucous drinking songs\, ballads of home and country; slow and haunting airs – and then some rocking reels\, jigs and polkas.  Six engaging vocalists lend their voices to great songs from Ireland’s rich history\, while skillfully playing a variety of instruments. (guitars\, fiddle\, whistles\, drums and\, well\, you will just have to come out and see them). \nWith a few of “our own” in the group\, Extra Stout is not to be missed!  They perform throughout the region\, and no performance space beats the fantastic acoustics of the Tinmouth Old Firehouse.  Extra Stout are great fun to see and hear – bring the whole family!  Bring your friends! \nAll the concerts start at 7:30; doors open at 7:00. DESCRIPTION:Swan Song \nThe Spoon Mountain Singers will give their annual Tinmouth Firehouse concert on Saturday\, June 30 at 7 p.m. After 21 years in Tinmouth\, this will probably be their last concert of all. The program includes vocal music from many periods: 16th to 20th century\, sacred and secular. Love songs and spirituals. The centerpiece will be Claudio Monteverdi’s Lamento d’Arianna\, his arrangement of one of his early Italian operas\, to which the original score has been lost. Ariadne laments her abandonment by Theseus after she helped him slay the minotaur and escape from the palace of Minos. Much music has been written about relationships between men and women. This concert will reflect their variety. This year’s singers: Asha Carroll\, Elizabeth Gibson\, Tegan Kirk-Elkin\, Bob Lloyd\, Sue Lloyd\, Helen Mango\, Andy McCullough\, Jay White\, and Elizabeth Willbanks. \n​

DESCRIPTION:Cindy Kallet and Grey Larsen\, each well-known and loved for their decades of music making\, have spent nearly a decade in a joyful musical collaboration. Cindy is a superb singer\, guitarist\, songwriter\, and multi-instrumentalist. Grey is one of America’s finest players of the Irish flute and tin whistle\, as well as an accomplished singer and concertina\, fiddle\, piano and harmonium player. As composers each contributes to the unique tapestry of contemporary folk and world music as it flourishes in the US today. Together\, they weave songs and tunes of vibrant color and rich texture\, rewarding the listener with a level of nuance and craftsmanship often compared to that of fine chamber music. The Old Firehouse Crew is delighted to have them return. \nConcerts are on Friday nights at 7:30 PM in Tinmouth village  (Except Jenni Johnson is on Saturday May 12). Doors open at 7 PM.
